When you hover your mouse over a region in the forum map, you get a little popup giving you info including the most recent post in that forum. Numerous times the little popup has indicated a new post, but when I visit the forum...no new post! Is this just a glitch or does it have to do with being a basic member? Are their topics in the regional forums that I wouldn't be able to see?
Or perhaps I am just nuttier than I originally thought!

I get what you mean, and no, you're not crazy-there are threads in the region forums us noobs aren't allowed to see until we become full members. If someone posts in them, they still show up in the little update window you're talking about, we just can't always see what's been posted. Does that help?
I was thinking about how people seem to read the Bible a whole lot more as they get older; then it dawned on me - they're cramming for their final exam... |

Ahh yes, that helps! I thought there were only certain forums and LDB areas we couldn't access...didn't realize it applied to individual topic posts as well. Thanks, Crazyman!

No problem! I think the individual topics noobs can't see are only in the regional forums-hence, the eye logo next to all the threads-it stands for publically viewable. I think the only thing off-limits in the main forum area is 'other', I don't believe any of the main forums have any hidden threads...
