Anyone ever been? Ghost town near Victor/Cripple Creek area, pretty cool. I wanna go back soon if anyone's up for it. There's a bunch of walking trails all around it too.

i was up in Victor a while back, it's about as close as you can get to a ghost town. Population of about 5.

Never been to Independence, though.

Oh man, well I might have found a really great find around here then. Actually houses and structures to go into. Something other than drains around this area. Anyone interested I can set up another date to go.

Are you talking about the Independance that's off of Independance Pass south of Aspen? If that's the one you're talking about it's nothing special - it was more of a camp then a town. There's like 3 structures and some foundations but nothing special. Also, it's kind of touristy.

Aspen? I'm pretty sure it's nowhere near Aspen.

Independence Pass is just south of Aspen and there's a "ghost" town about 9 miles down the road. We took a snowmobiles up the pass one winter to see the town of Independence. Maybe it wasn't actually called that but that's what the guide we were with called it.

I didn't think anything was left of the independence near victor. Are you talking about the mining history interpretive trail?

Yeah, I might be. All I know is that I went there a while back and found a huge mine shaft plus a few abandoned houses that were creepy as fuck. And that's only as far as I could drive my car.
