| | | Anyone ever been? Ghost town near Victor/Cripple Creek area, pretty cool. I wanna go back soon if anyone's up for it. There's a bunch of walking trails all around it too.

| | | i was up in Victor a while back, it's about as close as you can get to a ghost town. Population of about 5. Never been to Independence, though.

| | | Oh man, well I might have found a really great find around here then. Actually houses and structures to go into. Something other than drains around this area. Anyone interested I can set up another date to go.

| | | Are you talking about the Independance that's off of Independance Pass south of Aspen? If that's the one you're talking about it's nothing special - it was more of a camp then a town. There's like 3 structures and some foundations but nothing special. Also, it's kind of touristy.

| | | Independence Pass is just south of Aspen and there's a "ghost" town about 9 miles down the road. We took a snowmobiles up the pass one winter to see the town of Independence. Maybe it wasn't actually called that but that's what the guide we were with called it.

| | | I didn't think anything was left of the independence near victor. Are you talking about the mining history interpretive trail?

| | | Yeah, I might be. All I know is that I went there a while back and found a huge mine shaft plus a few abandoned houses that were creepy as fuck. And that's only as far as I could drive my car.
