| | | You might want to think about starting off easy with the newbies. I know that seems harsh, but I can think of two mines above Idaho Springs that, if-n yer not carefull and trained properly, you can go fall and get hurty quickly ::Edited for spelling goodness:: [last edit 5/10/2008 9:11 PM by TunedAgent - edited 1 times]

| | | Actually, most of my personal favorites are above Idaho Springs. This one in particular is tricky in that once you've climbed in, (the main entrance is walled up), and if you're not looking at the floor, yer gonna do a estimated 2000 foot face plant. We named it Brians Leap because he was the friend of mine who almost bought it. Great mine really because the winz or stope what have you was inclined off one side that lead to another tunnel 2000 feet below. I'd be happy to show you where it is come Spelunking season.

| I love spelunking season! Thats when i get busy with mine rescue pulling bodies out of mines, mostly people who think they descend a 100 year old shaft and live to tell about it. Mines are NOT caves and they are dangerous! Not to be mean but i don't want to pull anymore bodies out of mines and with this wet season a mine shaft is the LAST place i would go

| | | No offense taken Duke. although I'm not a miner/rescuer like you, my father is a retired coal/mineral Geologist, so I've been in caves and mines around the four corners most of my life. This aint my first rodeo Bro. Earlier you posted that all one needed was a hard hat and a flashlight, and I figured if you all were going to do what I do most summers, then you should probably bring along a wee bit more gear. But I guess I just answered my query to this thread. You know what your doing. You obviously are going to take em to safe mines and stay outta the tricky ones. Good for you. By the way, you wont see me dancin' near mineshafts, or going in any flooded mine or cave. Papa teached me good;)
