| | | Good luck to you; in my experience the staff eye up anyone who show anything but fleeting interest in the off limits areas and is not obviously a tourist.

| | | Has anyone tried to get an 'off limits' tour? In my experience showing a genuine interest in stuff like that can sometimes get you pretty far...

| | | Yeah, but you never know. Most of the senior staff have keys for things like that.

| | | Surely, somewhere in Canadian, or perhaps British archives, there must be plans or blueprints, or some such detailed drawings for this place.

| | | During tourist season, you can get some detailed maps of the Halifax Citadel. I can guarantee you that if you go to the HRM Archives, you can find a detailed map of the citadel complex.

| | | As I said in the George's island thread. I work at the Citadel full time. I've gotten the scoop on a lot of rumours, know where things are and where they aren't and know what you can easily access and what you cannot. Don't get yourselves too excited. I've already looked into it for myself. The blueprints I have seen do show a lot of short-ish tunnels branching off from the walls of the fort, but all of these have been sealed years ago when the restoration of the citadel began. You have to remember until they started actually restoring it between the 50's-70's most of the actual defensive walls were crumbling and most had actually just fallen down, the place was in absolute shambles. So any tunnels (mine galleries) that existed branching off from the hill were either caved in naturally , or caved in by workers to add support to the road that goes all the way around the hill. If anyone has any questions, let me know.
