My understanding is the Chico is risky, tough infiltration to say the least... They used to allow people down then, like Chico is good for, people drank too much and killed themselves down there... Now the caretakers house is built right next to the site!

Well that sucks, if the house is right next door it might be a good situation to get yourself shot, lol. I know the people who have houses next to or on top of silos in Arizona don't take kindly to people poking around on their property.

Yeh there are two more Northern CA sites, and three So Cal sites. The So Cal sites are on active US AFB sites. The other two nor cal sites, one is flooded, one is sealed up tight

If you're talking about Vandyland, I was pretty sure there were more than 3. And if a house is right next to the place, my guess is that one could be very quiet and discrete and make it in if it isn't sealed. I'm just sayin. Also one might ask permission and try not to look like a fool and have some silo documentation on them and know what they're talking about. Either have worked.

Vandyland is insane! There are loads of silos, I know of Titan 1, Titan 2, Atlas D, Atlas E, (I believe Atlas F), Minuteman silos. It's an urban explorers haven, but it has to be legit access! If you get caught in there trespassing, they are likely to believe your a spy and lock you up and throw away the key.... I wouldn't mess with large chunks of Vandyland....

For some reason I thought the Atlas A-C had launchers there during testing, but those like the D's & E's would have been above ground. They launched a shit ton of missiles toward Kwajalein to test ABM systems. That would be another cool place to visit, with permission of course. Nobody wants to be put in a federal pound me in the ass prison.

I lived in Chico in the early 90's and have explored that site several times. Those pics look exactly the same as I saw it 15 yrs ago. It was very easy to get in at the time and you could leave your car at the entrance and never be harassed.
They had the main entrance stair hatch propped wide open, so you just walked down.

Sometime in the 90's, a student fell through an opening in the equipment terminal and almost drowned in the nasty water. She had to be airlifted out of there. Since then, the place was sealed up tight and we never got back in.

The info about it being trashed are true. There's been fires down there, sections of floor were missing, grafitti everywhere, and partially flooded, and lot's of junk topside, including a burned mobile home that once was the security guard's place. Now I hear they got a new watchman.

From what I understand, the owner at the time was very hostile with trespassers, but he didn't live their locally.
