| | | Here in Brisbane, we had a bit of a downpour this afternoon. I dropped by a drain feature that some may recognise (thank you again ds for leading me there). This was a couple of hours after the rain had ceased, but the tunnel was still half-full of rushing water. Excuse the awful photography :P
Look at that debris! Yes, the water really was that high. The pedestrian underpass nearby has a *nasty* high water mark. Where the hell all that water went is anyone's guess, but parts of the city were flooded out, with bonnet-level water. Toadie is a reasonably big drain, but once I vaguely thought you might survive a flood in its famous chamber, standing on tiptoes on its little concrete platform. Such a naive thought - you really would just die...

| | | It's always amazing just how much water can enter these systems in a short time. I wouldn't have wanted to be near the silo end during that weather. Nice photos Waffle. Note: Wonder how much of the graf it washed off [last edit 2/7/2008 2:11 AM by Iscran - edited 1 times]

| | | Holy shit. No wonder those two at Lurline Bay never had a chance. That would just so fuxor you if you were even caught against that grille.
Caution! This user is a wise ass and may use sarcasm. Is my back pack good enough for UERing? |
