| | | I came across the Canadian Navy Heritage Project while looking for a map of York Redoubt on Google. WOW. What a wealth of information and photographs! Just thought I'd share.
The Canadian Navy Heritage website was mandated by the Chief of the Maritime Staff to provide for a centralized repository of information on the customs, traditions, history and heritage of the Naval Service in Canada. This site is broken down into three major sections; “History and Heritage”, “Customs and Traditions” and the “Photo Archive”. Each of these three sections has an individual introduction page that will provide greater detail regarding the contents of each. |
They offer a *.zip archive of all the Halifax pictures in high resolution... Here are my favourites: Halifax from the Dartmouth shore - 1786.
