Could always try for the old steel factory (could just be a warehouse) on the corner of Victoria Road & Windmill.

It's in use again.

This doesn't surprise me, that place changes owners so often it's funny.

I know there's security there, but whether there's an actual business, who knows.

This a good thread.

I think Nova Scotia or Atlantic Canada should be a section on the map, not just in "Other Canada"

WTF?

We all had ostriches. My dad had an ostrich farm! I remember one day someone came in and said the high altitude bombing of Kosovo had been a limited success, so we all went out and celebrated… by killing an ostrich and boiling it in kiwi fruit.

Well, technically, Shannon Park is still on DND property too. But that hasn't stopped anybody yet.

It stopped me and Northwest

Might I suggest:

Why not do the same thing that Winnipeg UE did?

Change the name of this thread to Halifax UE and pin it? At least it`ll then officially be the Halifax thread.

Don't you guys freeze way up there? Must be weird, it does looks like there's quite a few good places to explore though! I'd probably die. All together now "wuss" right? lol

It was 70 degrees (in fahrenheit) today. While we do experience a winter here in Canada, it is alot like winter in Boston and New York. When I say alot, I mean exactly.

It'll be 90 degrees here in a couple weeks.

I spent a year in Nova Scotia and the rest of my life in Ontario (Central Canada), the winter is the same in Ontario as it is in Boston. Nova Scotia is VERY close as well.

You don't cross the border and there's suddenly igloos and penguins.

On Wikimapia, I found this place about 10 clicks down the road from the Villa and I have no clue as to what it is. Here's a link to the place, it's right under the crosshairs.
It kinda looks like some sort of military facility, but it doesn't seem likely considering how far out it is.

Here's the same thing on Google so that there's not highlighted area:

Google Maps

Bull Meadow Firing Range, NS Rife Association owns it.

The boat is locked, and on DND property, plus can be seen from the ammunition depot/gypsum dock, so that's a no-go. The school in Wolfville is actually torn down now, nothing left except the brick wall by the road. Not a lot of places in New Minas though.
