Old train station New westminster BC.

(Okay i am editing this cause i just realized that i shouldn't be posting locations.)

Since this building used to be a train station (built in 1899), there is a tunnel in the basement. I assume it's been sealed off, but i would love to see pics of this and I am curious if anyone has ever been in there.

I am new to the infiltration forums and i have a fascination with heritage buildings and old underground tunnels. Not sure if i am brave enough to urban explore myself, but i really enjoy reading other people's adventures. Didn't know if anyone hit up this building or if it's worthwile to discover.

I seem to remember this being discussed a while back and being confirmed false by one of the members on here.

indeed Mowgli. The location of said train station would also have me thinking that there isn't a lot of land under the station, as the water table is not far off. IF a tunnel did exist, it would likely be flooded. I personally doubt the train station tunnel idea on the grounds of both the water table, and the lack of a need for one. Where did it go? Why have a tunnel?

Indeed, the water table is only about 4-5 feet down, if you go to skytrain across the street, and have a look in the hole on the north side where the pilings are being driven, you will see. I know someone has confirmed the fact that there is no tunnel there.

I used to be with it, but then they changed what it was. Now what I'm with isn't it, and what's it seems weird and scary to me, and it'll happen to you, too!

*duh* of course, that makes [obvious] sense regarding the water levels. I also wondered, given it's location and space, the need for an underground portion for the train (when there seems to be no reason for not having it above ground in the first place). Well, i admit though, it is somewhat dissapointing. D'oh....I've been dooped by an urban myth!

Its true and a great story, no tunnel. Nobody was elbow deep searching for it, with permission even.

I think missy you are talking about an often talked about tunnel under the keg in new west. I have a friend who used to manage the keg and he confirms the tunnel is a myth. nothing there.

It seems you've just been looking with your eyes closed.
