Depending on how close together the barbs are, on most fences there is at least a 4" to 6" gap between barbs, it is best to simply climb over at a corner post and mind where you put your hands and feet, preferably in between the barbs.

Corners are the best place to climb because of two reasons: (1) The corner post is almost always the thickest, most securely 'rooted' post. (2) The barbed wire at the corners is usually vertically strung, rather than on an angle, this makes it much easier to climb.

Right. I have never used gloves or anything to get over a barbed wire fence. Most of the time, depending how the fence is constructed, the barbed wire itself lies in these notched metal bars that are attached to each fencepost. You can easily pull the top two wires out of their notches and place them in the bottom notch, and climb at the fencepost.
Otherwise, go to a carpet store, get a few free samples of thick carpeting, and wrap that around the fence. No need to buy a suit of armor for a simple little fence....

Sometimes going under is the easiest option, but it generally takes two people, and a fence without a bottom tension wire. Person A, at midpoint between two posts, pulls up and out on the fence bottom. Person B scrambles under and holds it up with his back, allowing person A to follow.

Yet another unoriginal generic UE website. GODDAM!

I don't think I've ever seen a chain link fence without a bar at the bottom of the fence that holds it in. So I don't think that'd work well here.

I have... they use a 'tension wire' instead of a bar. This wire can be easily cut without leaving visible damage. And once it is cut, well all you have to do is lift the fence up and out.
