Asking for permission

I see a lot of people suggest this to new people, so I'd like to know what happens when you do?

Has anyone? Who do you ask in particular? Is it typical to be escorted around with them, or do they just go "yeah go look at it yourself, I don't care" or something, also, the chances of either seem really slim unless you're going to buy the property, it seems.

So has anyone actually done it? Whats your experience like with it?

I've gotten permission for a few places, which you won't find on my website.

Two places we just went and walked around. Security stopped us once at one place, but once I showed them the email from their director and they verified it, they went on their way. Another location we were escorted throughout the place.

It all depends on the place. Sometimes an escort can be great to get info that you need. Sometimes its best to be left alone while you do your thing. Good luck to you.

If there is someone TO ask, it doesn't hurt to try. Asking got me in here: http://www.uer.ca/...ow.asp?locid=24330

Go ahead and ask truthfully. Sometimes you run across the owner of the property by sheer luck. If you can't find the owner, try asking nearby neighbors, city hall, courthouse, county Judge Executive, and by doing general queries in search engines. Don't ask to go in there to "explore," but to take photographs and document the building.
