This is the town of Victor; it's a genuine ghost town, current population less than 500. It's probably a decent subject for photography itself, but in the time I had what caught my attention was the abandoned mining equipment. This was actually the first of two times we were in Victor; what's pictured below is an ore-processing building; the chute in the middle image discharged tailings.

(population < 500) != ghost town

(population = 0) == ghost town

No doubt 500 is a metropolis in some parts of BFE.

I drink gasoline for breakfeast and beer for dinner!

Heh, it's a ghost town in the sense that the buildings still there would accommodate several thousand additional people; ie, it only still exists because of whatever curiosity value it has. This ranges from Independence, population 0, abandoned since 1880, to St. Elmo, population < 10, but pretty heavily visited by tourists, to Victor, which was a pretty well-developed town that now survives as restaurant and antique-shop overflow to nearby Cripple Creek.
