Garrison's Crossing

I was in Chilliwack the past few days and scouted a subdivision being redeveloped. Its an old Military base being turned into an ugly "natural" subdivision.
There are at least 30 different buildings that have been abandoned and slated for demolition. Some of them look really interesting...
Although some of the house are still occupied I'm sure access wouldn't be hard at all.
Anyone ever explored anything round here?

Wow. That's damn interesting. If the property is no longer owned and used as CFB Chilliwack, or whatever it was called, then there is probably no big risk to go on the property. I think active bases always have a checkpoint, if not, just wander in like a lost tourist. Did you walk around in the zone, or observe from a distance?

I was right in the thick of it. Some of the houses are already torn down and rebuilt and some are totally untouched from there original state. You can walk right in and just be "looking at new houses" The actual military base is right across the street still.
There are a few houses that are open and a few that are boarded, as well as a few house that are on blocks due to them being relocated and refurbished. next time i head out there i'll be sure to have my camera.

Just a heads up that there is an RCMP training base right next door. A SIGNIFICANT RCMP training base.

Peepers peeled.
