| | | I agree with the focusing problems. The only answer i could have for that is your lens needs help. I know that certain Nikon SLR's/lenses cannot focus to infinity due to some sort of technicality, that may be your problem. I could be wrong, however. This was shot on 35mm, no? EDIT: Clarity, sort of. [last edit 6/29/2007 8:13 PM by Contagion - edited 1 times]

| | | the focus issue here is 80% intentional, 20% lack of insight. i could decide between the flowers and the furnace. i ended up giving up and doing neither - a terrible idea. if i had a tripod at the time, i would have stopped down and slowed down my shutter - greatly reducing the issue or possibly solving it all together

Well, perhaps somewhere between an f/5.6 or even f/8 would be interesting, if you focused on the flowers. If you're going to focus on the furnace, i'd recommend f/11 or maybe even f/16. Never do f/22, the clarity can tend to drop off and your colors can and will get fucky on you.

| | | I think part of the appeal for me towards this photo is the lack of focus on either flowers nor factory. I really think it would've taken away from the flowers or factory if you had intentionally made the foreground or background in focus. However, i would've increased the depth of field a smidgen. Whatev. I agree with GWarren about the contrast and colors being right on too.
I will also stand to disagree with the Nikon-bashing.

It was a problem with older super telephoto lenses that used ED glass. Guessing it's not the issue here.

My 20mm would have to focus past the infinity mark. It was a misalignment issue tho. Look into it if its still under warranty.
