closed school... feedback appreciated

It's been a while since I've posted photos on here... I'd like to think I've improved a little in the meantime, but who knows. Please help me out with some constructive criticism. These shots are from a closed school in Ottawa, built in the 1930s.

You had me with the first picture. It made me think that if this had been taken by someone named Alex or Eric, this would be a meaningful picture for some reason. Don't ask me what the meaning would be, but thats what i thought. Good pictures is what I am trying to say, really.

1. i like this shot but, when taking a shot where there is lins in the background, i try to keep the lines straight, in stead of putting them at an angle. also try to either get the names in the shot, or try to take them out if possible.

2. the glares in the top center are a little distracting,(i know you did not produce them) but it takes a little away from the shot.

3. good angle. composition is ok.

4. kinda dull, not much going on here.

5. good dof, but the first hook being out of focus, is very distracting, you could crop that out or something.

6. best shot of the set in my opinion, but the wire(or whatever it is) is distracting and takes away from the shot. ;(

7. good composition, but there is a glare, try using a Circular Polarizer filter it will take care of those glares.

thats all i have to say, i like the shots, you have a good eye, keep up at it.

I wish I had such a lense... I like the third one a lot

But there's two different kinds. There's bad asbestos, and there's nice asbestos. Anyway, it grows on you.

ohh, i have to disagree, i think the glare/lighter parts give it a gloss in the middle of emptiness...

it's my favourite one...

You have a good eye, but made a few errors. 5 in particular is a good shot, but the fact that it's not level, and the distracting half-hanger in the foreground ruin an otherwise good shot. Concentrate on your composition...you have an eye for it no doubt, you just have to really watch what's in your viewfinder. #7 is bitchin though...really really cool angle.

Thanks for some very specific feedback, that's exactly the kind of thing I'm looking for. Very appreciated.

These images are too big here to fit on my screen, so I'm going to make comments in yr Flickr gallery. I've got plenty of praise, and plenty of harsh words I hope will be constructive as well ;)

I really like the 1st shot and the 5th shot.

I also like the stairwell in 7. Nice work!

#4 isn't loading for me for some reason.

Thanks! That's kinda weird about #4... although it looks like maybe I messed up the link. Try this?
