|  | | | Hi, I checked out this place the other day, it used to be the major hospital for St. John's, but now is gradually being destroyed. Many of the wings were destroyed to make room for the another hospital/cancer next door. Its all been stripped down too, but it leaves some interesting things to look at. Anyway, here are some pictures, hope you enjoy them.

I would too, there were a couple of doors like that...I couldn't find a way to the basement, if there is a basement they might be the way, I guess they really wanted to keep people out...or something in!

Yup, those pictures put it in perspective. How far do the older parts of the building date back? Those bricked doors look 'aged.'

You can get into the basement through the door in the front of the building. Part of it is big enough to walk in but most of the basement is a dirt floor crawl space. That building in your pictures is going to be turned into condos. It's pretty cool but the most interesting buildings have already been demo'ed.

Hey, I'll have to go back and check it out. Do you know if they're going to demo the place and build from scratch for the condos or if they're going to work with what's left?
