|  | | | Now that Sask has finally decided to close a bunch of those rural schools (that only had 10-100 students) does this mean new rural/urban exploration locations for anyone?
I know i'd like to travel around and visit a few of these schools, as well as some old school houses that have been closed for years. Hopefully this all happens during summer holidays.

| | | | Most of the schools are officially closing at the end of August. Exploring the ones that are about to close probably isn't going to be possible for some time, considering the municipalities will attempt to find a new use for the buildings. However there is no shortage of old schools, and entire towns to explore in Sask.
Good luck with your trip. Exploring rural Saskatchewan has always been a rewarding experience for me.

| | | | The moratorium most definitely gone. The current number is 25 schools will be closed and seems like every couple days they add more to the list. The rural decline in Saskatchewan is very sad. Young families don't stay because there are few jobs. With the young people leaving the population is aging and there is not enough children to keep the schools open. Unfortunately many small towns in this province are doomed. 
Sure, we get more places to explore, but is it worth the cost?

| | | | Its sad whats happening in saskatchewan, I remember growing up and going through construction of a merging new k-12 school. The school is now about 6 years old I believe, and is on that list for closure. Such a waste of a amazing facility.
