Some. Not much in the mainland other than a few half built places. Remember, you're a gweilo and will stick out like crazy. With luck you'll be able to talk your way out of trouble if caught doing anything suspect. Otherwise, you'll be in strife for sure. If you're lucky you'll be able to find a few abandoned villages or maybe hutongs before they are bulldozed. HK is a better place perhaps. Check the UE DB.

Push and shove. Push some more. In China - and especially on the trains - there is no such thing as rudeness. I've not taken the Lhasa Express, but have a few others and you cannot let 'no' stand. One place on earth where being a loud American is not frowned on. Enjoy.

| | | If U go 2 Beijing,I suppose that Summer Palace and the Imperial Palace R the attractions U must go. But strongly I suppose U go stroll about in the aged alleys(we call them HUTONG),they R superb 4 UER,there U can view scenes jus like what I've post in Photography Area U can go and C. And,Tibet is a wonderful place no matter where U go,it's a pure place in exploration. The train's developed and U wont get any trouble in it enjoy Urself

I dont think so,there R much more wonderful things in mainland than in HK or Taiwan.HK's full of people but someways very traditional, very "Chinese" [last edit 5/13/2007 12:15 PM by Discarsed - edited 1 times]
