| | | I want to recommend an awesome book to read that deals with a lot of Urbex issues. It's called "The Mole People: Life in the Tunnels Beneath New York City" by Jennifer Toth. The book talks about the large number of different tunnels built underneath the city throughout it's history and the many different people and communities that call these hidden and forgotten depths home. Many of these homeless people live far beneath the city and spend more time underground than above it. They've managed to construct more comfortable shelters and even tap into water and electric lines. It's an absolutely fascinating read; while some of it seems a bit too sensational to be believed, it's an addictive read. I read it straight through when i got it a couple years ago. Here's the Amazon link: http://www.amazon....=1173302254&sr=1-1 strongly recommended...

| | | I actually just finished reading the book & went exploring in the Freedom Tunnel. Most of the living areas have been destroyed but the murals are still there!

I always assosiate it with hans moleman from the simpsons. The idea of a frail old man getting hit in the groin with a football is so much better under new york city.
