does graffiti add authenticity to site? or, are sites just better off with out it? is it totally against the UE code of ethics to tag a place? any thoughts.

me personally,Long before i was doing UE i was into graffiti. I know where most of the abandoned places in my area where from doing graffiti, they where my canvass at one time. But i was just there to paint and get out ASAP then, didn't look at abandoned places then the way i do now. I really kind of just stumbled on UE by accident while doing graff. However i like to drop my tag to let people know i explored it. Is this a bad thing?

I suppose It really depends on who you talk to. While I can appreciate graf as an art form, I don't really appreciate walking in to a building from the 1800s and seeing something like "Tony was Heahhhhh!" Because in my opinion, I don't really care if tony was there or not, and I certainly don't think he cool for advertising it on a wall.

I guess it really just depends on the place to. If its some mill thats visited by every townie in the area and has been getting smashed up and tagged since the end of time then I could care less what people write there. But if its a really old building thats not so well known and someone wants to mark his territory all over it (such as the phantom) then its a little annoying.

As for a "UE code of ethics" I don't really think there is one. You do things the way you want them done. You just have to accept what ever repercussions come from those actions.

I climb stuff!

I could argue either way. Personally, I think graffiti adds to a location.
