Will someone please post some comments. I hate having to ask all the time. I don't understand. I posted this in the critique forum, yet nobody has said anything. Do I need to specifically ask for critiques?

And less crowded. Try to only get the power line tower in the shot(or how you call it).

3. is a good exercise for you but boring for an outside viewer.

What camera do you use? It's not slr (film), is it?

On avance toujours...

The silence has meaning. They're neither good enough, nor bad enough to evoke a serious reaction. I mean they are pretty bad (in an exploring sense), but I'll admit I shrugged said 'meh' and moved on. None of them evoked any kind of meaningful response, just 3 more average shots. Find some interesting subject matter. While technically you may be exploring your urban environment the photos are dull.

Basics here - focus and composition. b&w wont fix that.

I know they aren't great, and that is why I want feedback on them. I'm trying to become better, and I can't do that if no one says anything, and tells me how I can make them any better. This is a critique forum, no? Meaning it is for people to Critique pictures.

Correct, but nobody is obligated to critique them simply because they're posted in here.

Sometimes the person giving critique doesn't feel like replying if there is too much to mention. If the photo were awesome but there was a couple of minor flaws, then it makes critiquing easy. I know it is frustrating when people don't say anything, because how can you improve if you don't know what you're doing wrong? Anyway, I will donate my 2c to the cause:

1. A window can be a cool subject to shoot, but what window shots do you see that you haven't seen a million other times? The composition really hurts this one. There is a potentially interesting reflection on the lower glass, I would work that reflection, and change composition.

2. Terrible subject. Have you ever seen a shot of power lines you liked? I'm not saying it can't be done, but really, what a challenge.

3. I like dof displays, but this one is suffering from two major problems. First, the whole thing it pretty crooked, there is no excuse for that. If you have it crooked on purpose, it doesn't help the photo. Second, the area in focus should be of something interesting to look at, this is not. Set a rock on the ledge, and shoot it again. Even though you just added a stupid rock, you will find it is way more interesting to look at.

Most importantly, try anything, and everything. Don't get discouraged, and have fun!

1. would be better if not tilted
2 i agree power lines just are not interesting at all.
3 there has to be something your focusing on, maybe a section of mold, or a bug, or anything.
