|  | | | this is a mission that a few friends of mine, and myself have been attempting to get on for a while, rooftop... namely, prozak, philosopher, twigg and myself, (none on this site other than me and twigg) after a few failed attempts, being that the building is quite well lit and no cover, no obvious points of entry, we aborted. this building is a highschool with a large theater attached to it, the theater is run by a very large cellphone company, and is approx 5 stories tall at the top, the mission was to find a way to the roof location of this site is 4 blocks from the city complex, which includes, the main office (not district offices) for the Surrey RCMP (the road this school is on, is one of the most police patrolled streets in surrey) this complex also contains the provincial courthouse, city hall and the local prison
the night starts out with Batman, Twigg and myself driving to the site, while on the way, nerves are on edge as we keep passing police cars, they are out tonight... we pass 6 on the way to the site alone.... we will encounter more due to location... approaching the building. which has full outerlighting and cameras for security reasons... circling the building twice with masks on, we decided a stairwell on the side would be our best inital attack point. While doing this, a police car would pass approximately every 40 seconds... tossing a rope around a light that was pointed strait down on us (making us EXTREMELY visible from the road) Twigg climbs the rope and is now on the roof, he pulls the rope up and we decide to find a better place to get batman and myself up, we chose the back, batman and I have to freeclimb up to the first roof, where we are about 15-20 feet below twigg, twig puts his climbing harness on and drops a rope connected to him as there is nothing to anchor to other than him, batman is the first up as he is the lightest of the bunch, and can help anchor twig for when i make my assent, as i weigh 30 lbs more than either of them. so up i go, we have now all made it to the roof, not an easy task being that the weather was not exactly on our side... by the time twigg was on the roof, the rope was dripping wet (not a good thing when the rope is designed for indoor climbing) so up we go, a celebratory 6 pack comes out, we all have a couple beers, take some pictures, walk around see what we can find... unfortunately the only access to the top of the theater was to climb the sign, which did not look that strong, possibly next time when we have some better explorers who know more about structural things... we look around a bit more and notice a car is now in the previously empty parking lot, parked in 2 stalls, windows slightly fogged... we debate sitting there and calling the police to watch them get in some trouble but decide drawing attention of the police to the property we are currently ueing is probably not a good idea, the hour is getting late, the exterior lights have now shut off we decide it is time to head out, we snap a few more pictures and become on our way. we decide best exit would be to rapell down twigg's entry point, one at a time we descend down, this being batman's first time in a climbing harness, i was at the bottom to make sure he did not drop himself after we were down, batman and I decide to sneak up on the car, quickly i slam back my last beer and make my way around the building, car is gone, with a radio malfunction (changed channels accidently) twigg is now out of reach... realizing the radios are not working properly we fix the problem... just in time to hear "where the fuck are you guys?" twigg comes picks us up and we pass another 5 police cars on the 9 block drive home
