I just realized that I have posted a few sets, but never in here. I'd love your opinions on these...

Confederate Statue

Back Wall

ADDED

Both of these were shot with a Nikon D200 using a 18-70mm Nikkor lens.

2nd edit - added one more picture and changed title to be a little more descriptive

I will give it a shot:

#1 A good shot, nothing great to me. I hate bright white skies, I think you did a good job minimizing the eye shock with the sepia tones. Well selected crop.

#2 The subject may not do much for some people, but I really like it. DOF displays like this are a treat. Just when im done examining the nice sharpness in the paint chips, the door forces me to look at it again. Cool shot, cool perspective.

#3 The tree and plant life visible through the window look really unnatural to me. It may lend itself to HDR. Also, the right 25% of the photo doesnt really do much for the photo, maybe a difference crop? With that said, this is still a great shot. I love the soft brown tones in there.

Thank you for taking the time to post these, and subject yourself to critical eyes.

1. Nothing grabbing me about this photo at all. Its all in the composition. Seeing it as I would with my own eyes standing 10 feet from it make this shot feel like it came out my middle school history book. Try some different angle and different distances. The focus of this piece is obviously the statue up top, so maybe make him the focus of your photo.

2. Shooting lines always draws your focus to the end of the line. Sooooo I follow the line down your photo and I just see a blurry door. This shot is lacking subject, but if you wanted to try and make it work, the best way would be to re-shoot it so that the door was in focus, so we don't feel used after following the line.

3. This is obviously your best shot. Its got extremely excellent natural lighting. I think the one thing you could do to improve this is to drop the camera down a couple feet and shoot from that angle. Otherwise it looks good.
