Time for some thrilling heroics.
| | If you have a 4D Maglite, do yourself a favor, get the 3W LED Upgrade. < on 1/13/2007 9:02 AM >
| | | The stock krypton lamp drops most of its brightness within the first hour, and then decreases evenly for the rest of its life, which is usually around 14 hours. The 3W LED upgrade starts off at slightly higher brightness, drops down a bit, but maintains this brightness for most of its life, which is over 20 hours. It can supposedly last up to 120 hours (not sure how accurate that is, I haven't tested it, I just got this). Either way, it's a cleaner light, brighter, last longer, and it's only $20 for the LED upgrade.

while Im not a advocate of MAG-LITEs I own several and Home Depot put these LED replacements on sale for $15.03. I bought enough to convert all my C & D MAGs to LED and they seem to put out more useable light than the Xenons I had been using. They dont have the throw (distance) but for urbX buildings and drains theyre ideal I did notice the MAG LEDs run the batts down faster than fully regulated LEDs such as everLED, Ive been using one of those in a 3D for over a year now on the same batteries estimating about 40 hours and it hasnt lost any brightness (due the internal regulation I guess) ps theres a user forum here on UER for flashlight discussions Id like to offer to anyone that wants to join its open to all http://www.uer.ca/...id=1&catid=1000386 just subscribe yourself to it and show us your gear or reviews

I have the 4D Maglite with LED. It lasts around 40 hours of regulated output. I use it for long power outages and such, but it's just not something I carry around because I don't need 40 hrs of light and I don't want to be lugging around the battery to sustain 40 hrs.

Are there any regular stores that sell everLEDs? All I see on their website are listings for online stores.

| | | I got a 4D Maglite with a LED last night. It's a lot bigger than I'm used to seeing, and probably isn't especially practical for my purposes, so I'm taking it back today and exchanging it for a 3AA Mini Maglite with LED.
