|  | | | Today I thought up the poor man's waders. I have a pair of hip boots, but my friend did not. I offered him the boots and for myself, trash bag waders.
Take a trash bag and step right in.
Tape it at the ankle, make sure to have full range of motion.
Tape it towards the top and try to anker it to say a belt loop.
Cover the bottom completely with duct tape.
Again check for tention in the bag that could lead to a rip or tear.
(You don't want the bag filled with water.)
Sad face and disappointment and what have you.
Not only will this work, but in mudy situations they are actually better than real waders as they produce less suction in the mud than the boots in the waders and slide right out.

| | | | If you skip the duct tape on the feet you can wear shoes over them. I often line my boots with grocery bags (tear off the excess flappage after your boots are on) if I'm hiking where it's wet.
Of course, it might could get nasty sweaty.
It seemed like a good idea at the time... |

| | | | yeah, it depends on if you're willing to get the shoes soaked. I have a pair of shoes that i'll gladly put over a bag and soak to the soul. but that isn't always the case, especially in real mucky sewers. shoe goes buy buy.
