| | | Another problem: They just introduced Virtual Earth 3D, which is like the next generation of Bird's Eye View. In order to make it work, I have to open it in IE. IE gives me the "loading" bar forever, even though FF 2.0 went back to normal.

Yeah your right. Fuck MS. They're pigs, and they've gotten so big they think they're a god. Boycott Vista for at least 2 years and humble them back into their place as mere humans. Shitheads. XP pro is more stable and secure anyway.
Just when I thought I was out... they pulled me back in. |

Win2k is more stable and secure anyway." I bet you said the above too... I'm no MS lover either, but Vista will stabilize.. when is an MS product ever stable on release? Give it 8mo to a year and a half and it will be... just like XP sucked with SP1. it took time. Hate them or love them (Who loves MS? lol) they aren't going away any time soon. I know everyone hates Microsoft but unfortunately they aren't in any position to go away soon.

Yeah, in ten years. MS jumped on the mapping bandwagon, stole Google's ideas, applied its own crappy design to them, and dumped the whole mess on the net. They think they still have a monopoly, and that's bound to be their downfall. Google needs to buy the BEV maps and apply them to GEarth.

| | | Everyone loves to hate Microsoft. Yeah, local.live isn't as good as Google Earth in most respects, but Microsoft does make a good product. I'm planning to upgrade to Vista very soon after it's released. Yes, Microsoft is huge and will not be going away. This is because they make a good product that people like. Microsoft never would've gotten where they are now if they made software as bad as everyone says they do. And no, Linux or Macs are not viable alternatives. All you Linux and Mac users can go play with your little toy computers while I'll use something functional.

Meh, call me a troll if you will. I'm just waiting for someone to provide an alternative to Microsoft that actually is better. Until then, I stand by my comment.

| | | Actually, I just noticed Google Maps updated some of their maps (a street built in the past 12 months is now listed in my town). As for Vista, I avoid DRM-ed anything - and Vista will be no different. When EMI and Sony-BMG released DRM music discs, it was right to not buy them, and it's why they no longer put DRM on their discs. DVDs have DRM too but do not restrict me simply playing it like the EMI/Sony-BMG music discs did. With Vista, the amount of control over the media you use on your computer goes too far. I agree 100% with the boycott for at least 2 years idea.
