| | | My first UE photography session < on 9/7/2006 4:58 PM >
| | | I took this couple of shots at Don Valley Brickworks in Toronto about a month ago. I'm shooting with my first camera, which is a Canon A430. I will freely admit I have almost no photography skills at all, I'm learning everything from a very patient friend. I don't have a tripod yet, so a lot of these shots have been taken on whatever substitute surfaces I could find... which sometimes produces a bit of a blur in the lower part. So yah, just throwing these at you guys and seeing what you think. Keep in mind this was my first ever UE shoot, first time doing low light compensation as well (which is hard as hell without a tripod as I learned). http://s89.photobu...lley%20Brickworks/

theyre Ok as far as docu-type pics go so no complaints or critique from me like most documentary pics dont expect much praise from the "artsies" but I like em because now I know what the DVBW looks like! that has its place here too imho but maybe just in the regular ue photo forum keep shooting what you like

| | | Are these the ones you shot when you, me and Jupiter went? NOt bad for not having had a tripod. I used a tripod and some of yours turned out better than mine lol.

| | | Yes those are the ones. They are meant to be in the documentary style, except for the graffitti wall/darkness one. That one was pure art and I think it went pretty well. I'd like to shoot artsy stuff in the future but that is going to wait until I get the proper equipment.

| | | Some pretty nice shots considering the circumstances. Actually, sometimes I can be hard to find good documentary shots of buildings. Nothing wrong with some overall landscape shots that show the building. Artsy stuff is awesome, but if there are no documentary shots in the set, it can be hard to place the location to someone who is unfamiliar with it... BTW, is that a railway bridge over the brickworks, and is it active?

| | | Yes thats a rail bridge, I'm honestly not sure which sub division owns it or if its even still active. I vaguely remember CP running trains over it when I was a wee one. Something coming off of the North Toronto sub maybe? Not sure.
