Won and lost more than my fair share. A Bic lighter as a fistpack has proven MORE than effective for me. Don't know what I do with a non-locking blade other than slice myself and drop the thing in a fit of drunken cussing.

you shouldnt use a short non-locking blade to stab with

a short knife is best used as a slashing weapon

its not really possible to prove this some way but Im pretty sure I could kill you a lot faster with a s.a.k. than misfit could with his fists

Sorry, but I didn't realize the intent was to kill people.

Unless you're trained in knife fighting, you're almost always going to be better off with your fists in a one-on-one standing fight. I don't claim to be an expert, but most of the resources I've looked into suggest that you're more likely to have your assailant use the weapon against you than be able to effectively utilize it against them.

Actually your wrong. There is a chart from 1993 that shows out of all the people injured during a crime which people were more likely injured.

Unarmed people who fought back were most likely to injured with I want to say about 52% of the people injured, followed by people with spray, people who attempted to scare the criminal, then people who had a knife. Not supriseing people who had a firearm were least likely to be injured during a violent confrontation. I am going to try to pull up this data as soon as I require this info. I need to transfer it.

The guy who was hurt was in the USAF, in the philipines I think, I don't think the photos are necessary as the statistics pretty much validate the carrying of a knife.

I stand corrected. As mentioned, I was going solely from memory.

I plan to make a little thread on it, because every time we get into these weapons no weapons arguments people go on opinion and feeling more then fact. Its a common mistake from everyone at one point or another.
