Hey Shrapnel, I'm in PG and have done some limited exploring, mainly active sites thus far ie Intercontinental Pulp at night and some in PG Pulp. Send me a private message if you want to see some pictures as i dont have the access to log a site. I will be visiting an inactive site (the upper fraser sawmill site) this week if I can find the time. The mill burned down but the planer is still there plus some neat stuff I'm sure on site. It's only been shut down for a few years now. Someday I'll get the balls needed to go into the hospital and access the wings that have been closed. Besides that its perfectly acceptable to just wander around the hospital not trying to get into any closed places, if anyone asks just tell them you are looking for the library, a public resource not many in town know of.

Also have you ever seen/been on the watertank by the crossing of highways 97 and 16, its nothing special unless you are interested in graffiti or stargazing at night.

Not alot of inactive sites or cool historical stuff in our area.

Do you have any to share?

I grew up in PG but haven't been back in a while. If you have wheels, there's some interesting places down in the Hixon area, just off 97 a short drive. The outer greater PG area has potential UE sites, if you're cool with a lil' driving...

How about the old Hwy 16 bridge (car & Rail)? It's been replaced by the super modern bridge to the immediate south and is abandoned for lack of a better word. It has westbound traffic on the north lane, rail in the center and eastbound traffic in the south lane. I'd love to see up close and personal pics of this...

Fedge! When did you live here? I'm curious what is exploration worthy around Hixon or outside PG.

That old bridge is still in use as a rail only span, and they will likely never shut it down. The lift mechanism is pretty interesting, possibly photoworthy and probably hasn't been operated in my lifetime. But any closeup photography would be high security/night/active site protocol. The railyards around here crawl with train police.

Paging shrapnelg!! where are you?

tryp, it's been a while since I last called PG home - 1990 was my last year there, living in a duplex on Oak by the slough.

I recall the Hixon area being ripe for UE even back then, west of town on various backroads specifically.
