| | | Well, I'm just starting the art of Urban Exploring. My brother does it all the time, but he never brings a camera along so i'm wondering what sort of camera should i buy for this. You can also just post what kind of cameras you guys use, so then i can do some research and just pick a specific camera.
P.S.: When i ask what kind of camera, i mean what kind of digital camera seeing as that's the type i'm most likely going to buy. [last edit 8/20/2006 7:05 PM by Zeppelin - edited 1 times]

| | | I have good experience with cameras, but I do want a digital that's easy to use and that takes good pictures. I'm willing to spend up to 200 dollars.

| | | well for 200 dollars you can only really get a point and shoot camera in digital rather than an SLR. You could defiantly pick up some nice 35mm slr's though with 200.

| | | Go for a point and shoot camera. Then if you think you'd like to get more serious and dedicate more time to photography, go for a more expensive. A basic 5mp digital camera will run you around $150-200.

Yes. You can get a Canon A530 for about 200 dollars, for point and shoots they're pretty nice. The memory cards aren't too expensive (you can get a 256mb for about 25-30 dollars), it'll take short videos, custom exposures, and they're pretty easy to use. I just bought one myself and I'm very happy with it.

| | | That's expensive for such a small card. I bought a 2 gig cf card from frys a couple months ago for $45.

Canon A series offers manual focus, aperture and shutter speed, as well as aperture/speed priority modes. You can actually do a decent long exposure up to 15 seconds. They're functionally close to DSLR, except the fact that its not a single lens reflex.
