Requesting some help/ideas.

Ok so I was thinking about going on top of my old elementary school, there is a pipe that I could hang on and then wrap my leg around and then get on top of the building, the only problem is there is a CCTV camera pointing in the exact direction on what I want to get on.

Should I go for it anyways? Cover my face up? Would it matter if i got caught? Could they really do anything besides give me a trespassing ticket, even if im alumni and supposedly allowed in the building (not on top of course?)

Im planning on going at night or around dusk that way the light dimness should disrupt the camera lighting a bit if its a colored camera (which I doubt), but also it would be harder to see me, but would this make it more of a potential investigation?

They probably wouldn't care at all as long as there's no damage. Who do you think is even going to be watching the camera? Even setting off alarms the cops probably won't be around for an hour.

Yeah, I doubt too many people will be watching the cameras in the evening at an elementary school. People don't even watch them all the time while school is in session. So as far as getting caught at the site due to the camera, I doubt it'll happen. I do recommend covering you face, though, because someone might get pissed and send the tape to the cops or put it on tv or something. Then you'll kind of be in hot water.

I haven't lost my mind. It's backed up on disk somewhere.

Nobody will be watching. Most likely. However, if someone is watching, covering your face will look extra bad, as in cops come in with guns drawn as opposed to them sending a lone squad car. So ask around and social engineer your way into knowing whether they get watched.

When I went on top of my old elementary school, I made sure that I looked into all of the cameras.

I doubt they would even review the tapes unless there was a reason (damage of some sort) but I would recommend wearing a normal hat and just be weary of the cameras, don't go out of your way to avoid them if your going to be seen.. but I also wouldn't recommend sitting in front of the camera and flashing your ID into it either..

I do that all the time at a couple of schools near me. My friends and i get up there and just hang around for a while.
If you wear a hooded sweatshirt, you'll be fine. They won't be watching the camera, and they generally won't care unless you cause a major disruption.
Just do it, you'll be fine.

You stole my post. I was gonna say that I climb my elementary school on a regular basis, they won't be watching the camera or even review it unless you break something, and to wear a hoodie if you're worried.

And I was gonna tell him to do go for it too.

And they say that urbex isn't full of criminals.

Our actions were not intended to be criminal.

What's wrong with climbing a roof and running around like idiots, jumping from some decent heights, etc.
What we do is called "free-running", and although we're amateurs, it's a ton of fun.

I may be making an assumption, but aren't you a criminal, too, if you do the same thing?

I have a new request for ideas

Ok, so theres this drain that ive been seriously researching to the point where i know exactly where it is, i just have to see the outfall for myself. But the hard part at the moment is getting to the outfall.

Heres the inital spot, somewhere in the area, i havent actually seen it yet. And thats the dilemma for me.

So heres the same map but a little further out, and the green circles are potential spots that i can park my car at so i can then travel to the site.

Now for my problems:

The first main problem is, this drain is only accessible (from my assumption) through either wading through the river or shimmying across this bridge like design to the outfall. Now the main problem is getting to the point where im going to shimmy across.

The green circles are areas in which i can walk from that are closest to the area. The first green circle i went to (it is a forest preserve), and im not going to cut my way through all that fucking forest, i just ran till the point where i saw those giant bushes with those prickly things, then i stopped and turned around and went home (WHY!!???). No seriously thats a fu**load of never used forest. Now my thought is, why dont i just railing along the side of the road to the bridge like thing, thats the easiest way, but i feel like people would see me too much, especially when i have a backpack and some ragged cloths on (this is my opinion is my best option)

The second green circle would be a hotel, i could just temporarily use their parking (they wouldnt mind or know right?), but then i have to cross the damn road, which is a busy road usually. Right next to the hotel, theres a office building that seems pretty lax about parking security so i could go there and once again id have to cross the damn road.

So any other ideas, and i face one more dilemma, GETTING OUT of the outfall, itll be easy to get in but not out, so im thinking about bringing rope and i could tie it to the railing above the drain (since there actually is a railing there) and we could scale down and back up later and take the rope.

So ive done my research on all that i could, and ive given my scouting efforts out publicly, any comments?

...go park your car and look at the outfall. dont over think what could happen to you if you got caught...you really need to see the outfall for yourself before you can even think of trying to go into it. What if the drain is only 2ft in diameter?

If it is indeed what you think it is, i would go buy a 9 dollar raft thing for pools or what not and float out there and get a good look at the drain.

Shut the fuck up and ride that fucking Couchmobile!

A simple laser pointer shined into the camera lens can cause the auto iris to fluctuate drastically rendering the camera temporarily disabled. A long enough exposure to laser light can completely destroy the CCD chip in the camera. The latter method is somewhat destructive, but it the most effective. I have in the past used the first method to temporarily disable cameras.

I've seen you posting a lot lately.
I have two questions:

One: Where are you located?
Two: How did you research and find this drain? I'm probably most interested in draining but I haven't really found many.

It was tongue in cheek. He "stole" my post. I do all of what you describe too (freerunning, we have a parkour board here...), and yes, I'm technically a criminal. As are 99% of those on this site.

Re: The drain. Its not that cold, swim in? Bag the pack, grow some balls, thrash through the thorns and jump!

Or you could walk up to it and stick your head out, take a look-see. There is always more than one way into a drain. Otherwise it'd be called a hole. Look for manholes, drain inflows (from the street, ponds, or anysuch), and see if they will suit your needs.

I also don't think anyone would care if you ducked in, unless thats an airport. Some of the drains I know like that are easiest just to walk up the shallow edge of the river to and walk right in.
