| | | did you turn up the contrast on #1? if you did, then you also need to turn down the brightness. turn it down anyway. #2 is the best of the three, but the lighting is just gray and icky. same with #1. #3. hi there. nice picture. [last edit 8/5/2006 12:59 AM by I am the Bear - edited 1 times]

| | | So then you think it was just a lighting issue here? What do you think about the different angles, etc?

well i see you tried those 2 different angles on the same subject. i think the second one is best because it has depth to it. in the first one, everything is the same distance away from the camera, and it makes the picture seem flat and plain the depth in the second one is accentuated by the use of selective focus. by focusing only on the nearest gas meter, and blurring out the background, you've created a place for my eye to zone in on.

| | | Number three is the only one I care for. The first two are kind of boring but the third is just a good shot. The background isn't very distracting and it's funny in a way. I like the choice of black and white, and your angle. I normally really dislike photos with people in them, but in this case, your presence makes the photo. Good shot.

Agreed. It's bold and interesting. Good shadows, light, color, and repeating shapes.

True, very true. I thought the first one was a little conventional too. Good thing i took the second type eh??? Well i tried to fix the brightness on the first one and i think it looks better. Funny how the one i thought was the worst turned out to be ur guy's favorite? Well lets tear this series to hell.
better, worse?

| | | the new one is a little better to look at, but the vertical pipes are still so dark. i dont think you should concentrate much more energy on it since its kind of a dead end anyway, seeing as how it has no depth. keep taking em

I agree, I like the contrast of the pipes and its shadows. Off-centering things can make a dramatic difference.

| | | Yeah, the shadows were so clear i thought it would be a waste unless i included them in the photo as well.
