Personally I can think of at least 3 targets alarmed via motion detectors. I find the information in this thread and the others very useful indeed.

| | | Posted by Kinroan How effective is the maglite technique? And would it set the alarm off when it was moved off of the detector?
|
practice with a pir controlled floodlight, or with a security system you can arm/disarm. once you get it down, it works, the trick is to move in a straight line with the detector, focus it on the detector, blind it, walk towards the detector, then shift to your exit vector, and head off in a straight line away from the detector. it works OK, but you'll have to practice it, and be prepared to run like hell 'cause it just doesn't work sometimes, esp. with the newer, blind-resistant PIRs. also, a lot of the newer motion detectors are a combination of pir and microwave, I wouldn't be surprised if you could connect one part to one alarm circuit, and the other to a second (ie: the pir to an internal siren, and the microwave to a dialer). but that's all hypothesis. You can blind some pir's with a maglite, so give it a shot, YMMV, and we all get caught sometimes, but there's one way to know "for sure".

| | | Not too shabby, I like. I would like to see one that is self-mapping and uses doppler shift sensing, plus a trick or two more. I also like properly set up advanced smart camera systems with EMI shielding. Overkill is good. Here's another line that looks nice: http://www.boschse...rofessionalseries/
