| | Trying to find locations for Devers and Wrentham school in MA - also - how do you research locations? < on 7/29/2006 5:13 PM >
| | | Hey! My friend and I are beginner infiltrators, and we wanted to plan a trip for a couple places - one, the Paul A Dever state school in Taunton (I believe) and the Wrentham st school in Wrentham (both in MA). We have a general idea of where they are and we have maps, but we've tried to get to these locations before and were not able to find them via exploring. Can anyone who has recently been to these places provide ANY sort of tips? It would be HUGELY appreciated. Actually, non location specific tips would also be appreciated. How do people research before they make a trip? What is the success/failure rate? Any hints on how to find a building via exploring when you don't know exactly where it is or when the roads look different than they do on outdated maps?

| | | First off, it depends on the location, you can use google maps to map out your entry point using the "Regular" map feature. Second I suggest Mapping out with google maps using the "satellite" feature also, for in depth detail. But depending on the place you want to go, the maps can be low-quality. Once you ACTUALLY map out where your going, I usually create a plan and write out it. I go over in my head what should the general Recon consist of? (however if you havent been to the place you want to get into, you obviously must first find it and do a little recon) Reconnaissance: This stage doesnt require much (as in equipment), but depending on where your trying to go also makes a significant difference. If your trying to get into low security/no security, it will be easier to recon and less of a hassle. But if its higher grade to VERY high security (which most people dont suggest going into) then the planning and recon will have to be a little more sophisiticated than the average UE's scouting. The things I suggest bringing for recon, flashlight (if night, or NV goggles if you have it, I sure dont), pen and paper, camoflauge (depending on where your going and the security on the AO), and maybe your phone or wallet if you need it. You really dont need much for the initial recon, because your going there to mark on the map you created, the choke points on the map, the entrences, the easiest entrences, ways of gettng in and getting out, security personell or security systems/animals, and other notable things of you AO. Once Recon is done, theres not much more for me to say but plan your infiltration, and then go execute your plan. [last edit 8/1/2006 4:20 PM by distorted void - edited 1 times]

| | | It's that new cloaking technology they've begun using on sites to keep trespassers out. Haven't you heard about it? http://www.livesci...isible_shield.html They've decided hiding abandoned buildings are the best use of this new technology. it's sure to make our efforts a whole lot more futile in the near future.

| | | Now I'm not normally one to talk shit to the new people, but really, it took me a whole 14 minutes to find both of these locations on topo maps, obtain driving directions, and scout out parking and such via aerial photography. And hell, I've never even set foot in Taxachusetts. If you're having trouble finding a location like either of these two, you're doing something wrong. Learn how to read a map.
