Alarm Troubles... anyone else?

So the other day I found a series of trails that led to the back of a huge baptist church. I scouted it out and from what I could see it looked like it was newly built. I didn't see any alarm stickers, so i started checking doors. The last door I checked opened so I invited myself in. After snooping around for a few minutes, and finding some really cool rooms, I turned the corner to a new hallway. And then I saw it, an alarm panel. A second later the church is filled with the sound of sirens and I high-tailed it outta there. Anyone else have some alarm screw up their good time?

Oh yeah.
One night, after spending an hour or two scoping, approaching, and searching for an entrance to a place (a very large one, at that), we entered through a swinging window mounted in the ceiling of the place, onto a rusty old catwalk. Just as we were celebrating our entry success, and carefully descending via a strange folding staircase contraption, I pointed out a couple of red lights in the darkness ahead. "Psh, probably nothing", we guessed, as we began to notice a quiet siren-like noise in the distance...
A hasty retreat later, we decided not to stick around to watch the cops arrive, and beat it home.

This is the way the world ends.

Maybe the front door would have worked better.

Yeah, that would have been a better idea. Even asking for permission...

Yeah your probably right, but like I said it was newly built, and there was nothing in it but construction equipment. So yeah I probably could have waited until it opened, but i was curious...

The baptist's are nice people, they would let you explore if you asked, unlike those dirty catholics

Back on topic, honestly if you ask permission for going to a church, you should be allowed to go in, maybe make up a good cover story, like I work for my school's newspaper and want to write an article on it, or just ask to walk around and take some photographs.

Your right there are much easier ways to explore a church. Oh well, hindsight 20/20

There has also been a series of baptist church arsons that the FBI is investigating. Asking for permission at an active site can save you a lot of trouble, and yield better results.

Your point?

I want to konw why the FBI is looking at baptist churches.

Is it that hard to understand, or is the tin foil hat making life hard?

As I stated before: "There has also been a series of baptist church arsons that the FBI is investigating."

Did you miss the word "arsons"?

* Way to be a bigot.
* Do you hate Jews too? Allahu Akhbar, eh?
* Despite recent media attention, the Catholic Church has one of the lowest rates of child abuse among its members - it is just TERRIBLE and inept at playing cover-up like other notable faiths. The Mormons (sorry it's a fact) have, by far, the highest child victimization rate of any major US denomination.
* That said, and back on topic:
* Why on Earth would you need to break into a church?
* They will let you in the front door and encourage you to bring your camera.
* I have never had any issues photographing churches, even (gasp!) Catholic ones. 2 of the most spectacular abandoned churches I have ever seen are both Catholic and all I needed to do was ask to get inside and shoot.

Comments like that, it's no wonder you wouldn't be able to get permission to enter a Catholic church. I wouldn't want to let someone in my house (residence, worship etc) especially after getting insults like that spewed out.

Rainman8889, and DevilC, I agree with you.

I'm not a catholic, but seem to be attracted to them. Most have a pragmatic attitude in general which I find to be most appealing. Though I don't agree with their political role, and some other issues, on a whole as individuals I like them.

As for the Priests, they are are some of the best educated, kind, and noble of religious leaders. They have gone into combat zones for a least 60 years to comfort soldiers of all faiths without bias.
They are a pleasure to shoot the breeze with, and most won't bring up religion if you don't. Add to that years ago I had a Priest in his 60's save me from being mugged by three assailants.

Distorted void breaking into a active church is wrong. So this thread is about religion.

lol relax buddy, your getting quite hostile, im just saying if you want to talk religion, this probably aint the place to be doing it, but....i have no say to that, so im not suggesting anything, just saying.

Is breaking into an active building considered wrong too? Or just the church?

I am quit relaxed. Personally unless I have permission I avoid active sites. If your referring to B&E, my ambitions don't include becoming a felon, or career criminal.
