| | | Found this today. Its a handheld thermal cam. I couldn't help but think about how useful this could be, i.e. seeing where steam pipes go, seeing the heat from human bodies even when there hiding behind something, seeing warm footprints on the ground and knowing that someone has just walk through an area, seeing in absolute darkness. Sure it's expensive as crap but it's cool as crap too. I hope thermal imaging decreases in price soon because it is much better that night vision technology.

| | | This site- http://www.fjwopti...ems.com/page2.html has many things of that nature, also. there are also viewers for IR and UV. however, i would much prefer one of these
the BIONIC EAR!! *cue dramatic music* this thing cam apparently, in flat desert conditions, allow the user to hear: -a truck starting 5 miles away -some crazy iraqis talking 3-4 miles away (apparently they were talking about how hungry they were and how they wanted to go home) and, all this for a price sometimes as low as about 130 dollars! i want one... http://www.silverc...esert%20Storm.html -the story of its use in desert storm

| | | 7300 euro? That's over $9000 American. Cool technology but, I can think of a lot of things to spend 9k on then a toy, a really cool toy true, but still a toy. [last edit 7/25/2006 4:41 AM by CaptOrbit - edited 1 times]

Blue90, Levacas, and StickyVortex what do any of your posts in this thread have to do with FLIR?

paradoxpictures2002 you seem curious what I think. It appears this thread is a joke, as are many of your posts. My mistake. As such it would seem that Blue90, Levacas, and StickyVortex are on topic. I retract my last post. Sorry no good jokes today, please take a rain check from me instead.

This thread like many others started off seriously, but I suppose that I am bad about getting off topic for the sake of humor, and family guy references. Hey whats life without a little humor. However my original intent was to show everyone some cool thermal imaging devices I found. You go right on keeping us on topic Blackhawk, somebody has to do it.
