I have posted here before, as I was once a Va resident. I inquired about the Falmouth/Fredericksburg Industraial area in downtown F'burg. If anyone frequents that area, and would be interested in posting some photos of the old Power Plant, and tall Flour Mill that would be great. I don't know how I would repay you, however, that area meant a lot to me and I lost all of my photos of that area as it's been a few years. I would just love to have them in my photo collection before anything happens to those awesome sites. Abbey Cont. was talking about razing a few of them years back (bastards) but luckly the historical society told them to fuck off, thankfully. hehe. Still, you never know. Here today, gone tommorow. Whoever is willing to get some shots for me, I thank you.

Awww...Rabbit, thanks so much! Yeah, those are the ones I used to UE when I lived in F'burg. I do appreciate it.

I don't know if you know of it, or even if it still stands: across the road from Captain D's, right before you go over the Rt.1/Rapp.River bridge, there is an island there that has some pretty good ruins on it, and was built a very long time ago. I once waded across the fast river, and UEed that site. This was roughly six years ago, so I don't even know if the recent floods took it out. The story behind that house is: I believe they were German immigrants (which a lot of that area is begun by) built a mansion on that island..only to be destroyed by high flood waters..I even think a few lives were lost in a flash flood once. Anyways, from what I remember it dates back to the late 18 century! I might be wrong...

When I went there, there was a falling roof, some chairs, most of the walls, the road and fence, and a few No Tresspessing signs...bah. They got washed away, too. haha. I walked right in, and took photos and looked at some old artifacts. I found old whiskey bottles, medicine stuff, you name it. A chair had managed to survive vandalism and floods...somehow. If you never been there, check it out. It is one of few UEed sites ON the river, besides the Civil War planks on the Rapidan and Rappahanock.

Thanks for the photos!! I am going to save them, now. I remember walking in the hole in the wall, next to the rusty door of the Electric Plant, and taking photos. There were some machines in there then, nothing big and wonderious. I bet they are all gone now, though.

Mongoose.
