This is truly awesome. Is there a thread on this cathedral? Can you give some vague clues to what this dam? photo is, and maybe tell us the city? Pleese : ) Great photo, the stairs tell us how big it is, I'm trippin...this is a UE Temple. Scary if they open the valves... Mr. A.

That is a picture of Matt's trip to Tokyo Japan a few months ago for the express purpose of doing C-Cans. G-Cans is the worlds largest Stormwater system and has only been explorered by 2 urban explorers that we know of.

http://uea.ca/view...older=520&setval=0 is the rest of the pics.

http://www.g-cans....07photo/index.html is the official site.

Yes those pics are not made up CG, Anymouse has seen it with his own eyes.

If you ever come to Calgary then email Satan@uea.ca and you'll be made welcome, taken to locations and given free accommodation. We'll help save you the $$$ you spend on the flight over here :)

Awesome, thanks Skaught, incredible photos and links. That place is off the charts. They've got to film part of Alien 4 there, or something, maybe with Godzilla, just something...don't just waste it on water

Congrats to you and Matt and Anymouse for your involvement, awesome for Matt to get in. Imho advanced Explorers awards are due. Ninjalicous (R.I.P.) would be very very proud of your accomplishments.

A pale comparison, but back in '89 I took the basic tour of the Hoover Dam. It was cool, (Didn't know they had another tour) Also there's a weird B movie with Melanie Griffith filmed there, and in the tubes! It's called: Cherry 2000. It's actually pretty DAM good if you're an UE and like to recycle, or just in a kinky mood.

Cheers,

A.

Alas I am the only core member of UEA who did not get to meet Ninj in person.

I did have one chance as my wife and I were in TO for a weekend of debauchery but I did not do any UE nor meet anyone local as it was a romantic weekend.

I do not regret not doing UE. I do reget not meeting him.

But life goes on.

Skaught pointed me here from the photo comments - Yeah, it's G-CANS. It was amazing.

If you can speak very basic Japanese, and read Hiragana, you can get there without too much trouble. Well worth the trip. $1200+ in airfare, etc, to see a storm drain

That link points to a pic of Dude repelling down into a drain. What city is that drain in?

That has got to be the most impressive, amazing, storm drain in the world. But one wonders: could they be building it to serve a double purpose?

That's Calgary. You don't need rappelling gear to do that drain, but it certainly adds to your comfort level.

Oh yeah? how steep is it? It looks like a 30 to 45 degree slope! Is it near downtown? I'd imagine there might be some fun things in downtown Calgary. Too bad I never really looked around when I lived there.

It is on Fish Creek in the south suburbs.

not the best drain in the world to me but a cool one none the less.
