| | | IUE in Prague, Czech Republic (international exploration?) < on 5/25/2006 5:10 AM >
| | | Share your international urban exploration experience. I recently took a trip to Prague, Czech Republic and i was surprised by what i saw. Basically any UE's paradise. Homes, schools, hospitals, stores, whole towns left to rot practically; you name it, it was there. Some possibly dating back to the 15th century or further. Of course this was not in the city, but an hour to an hour and a half outside the actually city. It was extremely inticing, but seeing how i was there with my school, i wasn't able to do any exploring, unless you count the tour i took of a concentration camp where i regularly wandered off from the group to check out alternative paths. I did scout some places by bus and some by foot during free time. If anyone is interested i will try to post some pics of atleast several sites (i have to figure out how to post though, im sure it's not hard, but i haven't taken the time to check it out yet). One particular place was a 4 story building atleast 100 years old directly next to a river and the front was blocked off with a wooden fence around the front right up against the door and windows of the building so you couldn't get in, but in the back there was an obviously newer metal fence which you could only access from a small stone bridge over the water which led to the back entrance.(very hard to explain, i hope that was clear). It was very strange. Well, anywho, i thought you all would find it interesting. Has anyone else had random international urban exploration (iue) experiences?

| | | The only abandoned building I've explored abroad was in Kanchanaburi, Thailand, near the river Kwai. I was looking for an abandoned-looking factory I saw earlier, when I stumbled across a two-storey building, probably a school. I also saw several abandoned skyscrapers in Bangkok, but they were heavily guarded. And of course there was Bokor...

| | | I have explored parts of Prague but have never seen lots of easily accessible deserted buildings. Maybe it's because I don't venture into the way-off parts. I have found several drains though. I'm going again this summer and would appreciate any pointers you can give me.
