	I searched for "respirator storage". It returned nothing, so here's my thread. I have a 3M P100 ugly thing with the pink filters... its pretty much this thing: When I'm not using it, I just throw it in my bag... filters on. When I flipped through the operating instructions included with it, it advised against doing this. I barely ever use mine, it sits in my bag for about 75% of the trips I do... its a just in case, really. How do you guys store yours when you're not using it? Another side question which there probably IS a million threads to, but I'm going to ask anyway... how do I know when the filters are through? When they get hard to breath in or is there a visible thing to it? > The hierarchy of power dictates that the person with the most power does the least amount of work and retains the highest benefit.

this is the one i use an I keep it in a big ziplock bag an i dont change my filter till the air taste's different mmhmmm yeah so maybe like once a month if im not using it allot now if im at work id change it twice in one 12 hour shift!

The P100 doesn't need any special care. Filters needs to be replaced when they become restricted. I have mine sitting in a box on a shelf. Just protect from dust accumulating on the filter.

If you have cartridges like 60926, remove the filters and store them in a zip-lock and don't open new filters until you need to. 60926 is a P100 with filters for toxic gases and has an activated charcoal element. These must be stored properly to remain effective and they do not last all that long once opened. I'd say no more than a year after opening.

I have two kinds. 2091 and 60926. The 2097 is like 2091, but with "nuisance level" organic vapor protection, which is concentrations below OSHA PEL. I think "niusance level" refers to chemical odor and such.

The nuisance level protection would go bad after sometime, but its particulate filtering ability isn't affected and for the most part, this is all that matters for UEing.

	i have 2 north 7600 and 2 north 7700 i use zip lock bag for the lot of them

	A ziplok is a decent idea at least to store it in. I'd change the filters each year. I know with old military filters you have to watch that you don't end up breathing in all the activated charcoal or carbon and end up. Thats worse than whatever it is youre trying to protect yourself from. Send lawyers, guns, and money...
