This is a ridiculous thread. Why would you resort to something so stupid? Canada's Wonderland is a bit more expensive but you will walk out of there with the same adrenaline rush AND all your fingers attached.

See my post, re: not being stupid.

You seem like a good guy, Deuterium, and to each his own and all that. However - performing this stuff is questionable at best - posting it here and piqueing the interest of the younger members of UER in such a dangerous activity just doesn't strike me as a smart thing to do.

Sure. To a new world of learning to deal with missing limbs and other disabilities.

My round about way of making a point - there's plenty of stuff out there that can kill you in daily life, and some of them you might never even see coming. UE is inherently dangerous enough, but at least things move in relative slow motion - we can stop and gauge the rusty ladder for strength, or test our weight gingerly on that rotten looking floor.

UEing is indeed inherently dangerous. Not sure if you accept this risk, but I go on attic spaces with only structural members supporting you. Step on the panel and you go plummeting through the ceiling and maybe the floor down below. You can always check the strength before hand, but if you slip or lose balance, this can always happen. As for exterior mounted ladders, slippage is also your ticket to death.

Perhaps elevator "surfing" wasn't the right phrase. If you simply ride on top of an elevator car and stay still, it is far far less dangerous than trying to jump over to the adjacent elevator car within the shaft as it passes you.

A concept so incredibly inane that I have nothing else to say about it.

It looks like sitting at home and playing on your XBOX 360 rather than going exploration and risk getting nagged for trespassing is a better choice for you.

Yeah, I consider there to be a large difference between playing around in an elevator shaft, and using it to gain access. That being said, I've used the car-top controls to mess around with drunk frat guys in my college dorms. This is still very different from jumping between cars in adjacent shafts. If you want to do that, then we'll just let nature sort that one out for us. Fortunately, it's not that easy to get into an elevator, You have to look around to get a drop key, and I think that's a good thing.

P.S: I don't ride cable elevators, Just hydraulic.
