| | | I just got back from exploring an abandoned salt factory off of the Great Salt Lake. You guys might enjoy these pictures. Red dots indicate comments and explanations. http://www.sicksad...y/DeltaBase?page=1 Pictures from the night Dabinut, Optikal, and myself first found this place. http://www.sicksad...DeltaBaseII?page=1 Pictures from today when SemiSponge and myself went back to take pictures in daylight. The place was too big for my camera to get good area photos in the dark. If anyone would like the location and/or directions let me know. I only ask that you please do not touch anything, try to keep the place secret to explorers and for the love of god please do not add this place to that stupid location DB.

| | | Very cool, thanks for the pics! The salt "holes" are interesting. Did you ever see the owl?

| | | Saw two of them, actually. I tried to get a picture but I only got one of the owls, and I was zoomed out so you can't see him very well.
It was a beautiful thing to see in person though. I have been seeing owls quite frequently as I've been exploring more places in the west desert in the past couple months. But I'm still always amazed with how big and graceful they are. [last edit 5/12/2006 4:20 PM by Rascal Rooster - edited 1 times]

| | | The facility in question is the Lake Point Salt Company in Lake Point, near Tooele. There are some good photographs of the facility in this Flickr photoset: www.flickr.com/pho...ctobox/sets/88088/

| | | An awesome site for sure, it was amazing and provided for quite a few excellent picture moments...especially at sunrise. just yesterday however, driving past it, we noticed (Oddthought and I) that the trailers/half-houses that were there on the property are gone and quite a few semi trucks were there also it looked as if some sort of crew was there. It seemed like they were fixing the section of the roof that had collapsed, all the rotted and decayed wood was gome and what looked like trusses was set up. Dunno why they are fixing it up but it might be off limits for a while...sad.
