	After sneaking into a building only to find a janitor on the only hall I needed to use, I'm left with one question. How long to the night-shift cleaning type janitors work? All I can say is that it is past 3.34am. And I'm sure it varies, I was just wondering if anyone really knew. "That's just my opinion. I would, however, advocate for explosive breaching, since speed and looking cool are both concerns in my job."-Wilkinshire

	Maybe try to get some info from the building? Try social engineering the janitor, asking how long he works, ect.

	Head janitors try to take night shifts since: elevator is free no one disturbs them control other janitors easier everyone comes in the morning and its clean Few working janitors are around during work hours, helping janitors come out after 5PM and head janitors after 3-4

	Depends on the type of location to a degree, no doubt, but janitors are largely not like security guards - they're lower-economy-class, often temporary work, and they get lonely working night shifts. Go to the building one night without UE-intentions, "come across" the janitor, strike up a conversation for 20 minutes - then you're golden to go anywhere on-site you want in the future, just stay friendly ;) I can honestly say I've never met a janitor I disliked, rather than yell and chase you, at worst they'll raise an eyebrow and say "C'mon mate, you know you're not supposed to be in there". 	From what I've seen as a campus squatter, there tend to be two scenarios: the janitors arrive around 4:00pm and are out by midnight, or they arrive around midnight and are out by 8:00. But it's not like there's any sort of universal standard, and there are exceptions all over the place. Janitors can be a major pain if you're a campus squatter, not because of anything malicious on their behalf, just that it's hard to sleep while they are working! Besides that, they're usually friendly and harmless...

In my poorer days as a grad student, when I lived in my lab, I remember being woken up by cleaners at around 5 am. Not a pleasant surprise, by either of us.

Then they started doing building rehab overnight - earplugs helped overcome that paranoid feeling that you were about to be discovered every night, but only just.

The universe may be as grand as they say
but it wouldn't be missed if it didn't exist.
