I know these suck.
took a 4 hour road trip and about halfway, realized a forgot my tripod. Tear me to shreds and help me out, I need it.

Nice pics. I went out Sun to a site and found out the batteries on my camera were dead. Had to go all the way back into town for more. About a 50 mile roundtrip.

I figured out what's wrong with life:

Thanks for all the lovely complements (my head is swelling to dangerous sizes)

When this happened to me, I improvised by balancing my SLR on the top of my head while standing perfectly still (on one foot), hands out-stretched and contorted into small crane/praying mantis figures.

I generally don't use a tripod. I have a bit of an issue with aiming too high on one side (I think it's because my shoulders are off balance), but it's generally only noticable in horizon(or similar) shots. If the light is sufficient, and the film speed is high enough, you'll save time by not using a tripod.
