| | | A friend and I are currently living in Japan and are interested in exploring Gunkanjima (Battleship Island). At the moment we're still in preliminary planning stages, but we do have the phone number of a guy who supposedly has a boat that could take us there. Wondering if anyone here has experience with the place, and could offer any general advice about access or any other concerns. Thanks, -- mcmc

If my memory serves, I believe it was Kuroneko who actually made it onto the island, and submitted pictures here. Check out the database entry on the island to confirm this. If I were in your shoes, I'd message him and ask for his advice. EGV P.s.: Checked your membership status, and you are not a full member here, so you don't have access to the database. As I set-up the entry, I'm going to see if I cam make it accessible to everyone. If this works, you'll definitely want to check it out. Ok. Managed to change the entry so as to make the Gunkanjima database entry publically-available. Please be sure to check it out. [last edit 1/16/2006 6:10 AM by ex-goose-villager - edited 2 times]
"You're a catastrophe... On your watch we've lost almost all of our allies, the budget surplus, four airliners, two trade centers, a piece of the Pentagon and the city of New Orleans. Maybe your just not lucky. I'm not saying you don't love this country. I'm just wondering how much worse it could be if you were on the other side. Yes, God does speak to you. And he's saying: Take a hint." B. Maher |
