Always just out of sight...

| | | It was redundant ages ago. And I can honestly say I don't believe you. And by that I mean, I think if a person's motivation (as I said earlier) was nothing more than "because they wanted to", then you'd be seeing what they did as wrong. It's not improving their life, it's not some huge humanitarian gesture, it's vandalsim we're talking about. If it was a guy stealing bread to feed himself, it'd be quite a different motivation. But that's not the case. [last edit 1/23/2006 7:37 AM by Jester - edited 1 times]
It requires wisdom to understand wisdom: the music is nothing if the audience is deaf. |

| | | Second Floor Windows... I am new to UE, the whole thing is exciting to me. I had ridden past this old deserted building many times over years. And always "Thought it was wrong" to poke around, explore. Then I came across http://www.ki ddo fspe ed.com/ and I would LOVE to go there! And their friends list lead me http://www.in fil trat ion.org/ I don’t have any idea why but before I read about these places I would not have approached the "Implied Boundary" around someone else’s property, regardless of barricades, if I didn’t have a reason to be there. No mater how abandoned it may have appeared. So with my new found "hobby" I went exploring. I found a rent-a-fence with the cement blocks and lift off fence sections. As I walked around, taking stock, I found a place where the sections were not tied together. A way in! I walked all the way around again without finding a window unboarded-up or a door not locked. There was however many broken second story windows and one with almost no glass. And a large sturdy steal lattice structure, that weighed a ton, near by. With great effort I freed the lattice from its thorn bush entanglements and stood it upright against the building below the window, and climbed in. I was so amazed I forgot to take pictures. I went back two days later and did take pictures. I went back this weekend and took even more. It is such an odd building. BUT, while I was cropping and resizing the pictures today I noticed differences between the pictures. New tags, newly broken windows, and most disturbing holes in walls. I feel like shit now and I wish I had known to take that ladder back down. I am going back down tonight to take the lattice down... I haven’t explored the whole building yet. I only saw a few rooms the first night and barley half the building so far. I wouldn’t have any way of knowing what all has been broken and destroyed because of my carelessness.

| | | You seem like a very forthright person, I think those guys would have done what they did even if you had not been there. N.

| | | Very commendable, indeed! We all make mistakes. It's nice to see that you went one step further, admitting to it, and making the best of (fixing) your error. Not to mention that you learned something from this experience, as did other members of this board. Kudos!
