	So I came across an interesting article on Hackaday, and while I know there's a number of people on here who are familiar with the site I thought I'd post this anyway. http://www.valhall.../docs/magcards.htm It's a bit of info about making what is essentially a card spoofer, AKA if you can somehow read a security card, you can make this thing pretend to be that card. kinda like in Terminator 2 when John Conner uses his laptop to spoof an ATM. Contrary to popular belief, death isn't just for dead people. I know I was surprised too! It can happen to anybody! Horses, fiddler crabs, even a potato can die! - Tick

	This looks great. I could build the circut, but the only problem is I dont have a PIC16C84 or the tools to program one. This sure is a cool project for somebody that has the equipment though. use the boost to get through

	Micro Controllers are really awesome - they provide the flexibility of a computer without requiring the full knowledge of how to build one. I've used them before in applications pretty similar to this, but there are a few problems I see in this application. First off, cardreaders has a sensor that tells them a card is present, when the card is no longer present (when it has been swiped through) the reader will send a string of data telling this, thus ending the tramsmission of data from that particular card. My common sense tells me that to simply put in a card that will take several seconds before it starts transmitting "real" data will mess up the transmission, especially since you are using an old card that already contains some information (and that information will be part of the transmission too). Thus the data that you want to have transmitted would be corrupted unless you are able to mess with the "card present"-sensor. This might be possible if the sensor is magnetic, and it actually might be, in which case the above statement is total bullshit and should be discarded. Except for that, there is the fact that many security-systems also require a code together with the card to ensure that lost, stolen or carded cards won't give unauthorized access. ..only some are more equal than others. Like ducktape.
