|  | | | Once upon a time, I lived in this horrible town. There was a big place that we called the mission where I took French lessons from a nun. The rumours were that there were ghosts of children there (of course). Being young and naive at the time, I had no idea what the place was and only recently realized that it was a residential school. I haven't been to Wabasca in a donkey's age and wonder if anyone has had a look around or if it's even still there...as I recall it was a big grey building close to Mistassini School in Desmarais.

But it does have two really cool 'missions', one of which was turned into a Post Office/Work Corps place and one which was abandoned. Is the Hop still on over the holidays?

Poor Amy had a rough go of it, but some people jumped to her defense and started making "I Heart Amy Smith" stickers, god bless their souls. Whether there ever was an Amy Smith I guess we'll never know...she truly is a legend.

a few years ago somebody put up hundreds of "amy Smith is an infected slut" stickers all over Calgary.
