| | | I wouldnt recommend the exhale gloves. I used them when I was doing roofing over the winter last year and they stay warm from your breath for about 22 seconds. Unless you want to keep blowing into them repetitively, dont bother. You might as well blow on your hands. Maybe they're better for exploring rather than roofing, but I wasn't impressed. I normally just bring a pair of thin framing gloves to keep my fingers protected from the wind if any at all. I'll stay until my fingers are tough to clench and then I'll take off. Thats how I roll.

| | | I keep my gloves in my pockets while I'm taking photos, but as soon as I've taken some shots, I put them back on. However, stiff fingers do provide the benefit of lessening sudden movements while shooting.

| | | I don't wear gloves for day-to-day stuff, but if I've got work or exploring to do I've got some fairly sturdy leather work gloves. Not spectacularly warm, but they get the job done. I find the best way to stay warm in winter is to be indoors- whether that means in your own house, or the 60th floor of a hotel, or the basement of a hospital, or the staff lounge of a museum is up to you. Also, doesn't "piggies" refer to toes?

| | | I suggest the little chemical toe warmers you can buy at Satan Mart or one of the other box stores. They are designed for low oxygen environments, and they will do a job on your hands.
I have changed my personal exploring ethics code. From now on it will be: "Take only aimed shots, leave only hobo corpses." Copper scrappers, meth heads and homeless beware. The Jonsered cometh among you, bringing fear and dread. |

| | | i was out last week here in toronto around -25 celcius i figured i could do with out a glove on my shooting hand, it froze but i kept shooting, when i got back home my hand thawed if anyone know thats painful, anyways, if you live in toronto i picked up a nice pair of thin gloves from sporting life, the fingers are thin but it uses the heat of your palm to warm them, i haven't used the for shooting just shinny a cool $20

Till you fill them with water the wrong way and freeze your fingers off. Good gloves though.

| | | when its that cold out, I go to the corner store and buy 40 of those pocket warmers. and my stuff them in my gloves, keeping my hands warm. And of course, my favorite north face vest. really warm, and is an air-bag when sudden drops are needed to dodge security cars.

| | | I use several gloves... Just got these puppies....GoreTex windstopper, very light...totally windproof.
Handwarming pads are the way to go in Canada. Cheap and useful.
Gore Tex OR mitts which go up almost to my elbows. These puppies are flawless with a chapo workglove with thinsulate lining.
In Canada with our extreme weather I'd say gore tex is the way to go.

Camouflage does not refer to a material, but a piece of clothing with a camouflage pattern on it.
